Adaptogens are popping up everywhere these days from tea blends to numerous herbal concoctions. Have you ever wondered what is an adaptogen? What does it do? And, if you’re like us, will it make my skin look good?
What are Adaptogens?
Adaptogens are natural substances, herbs, mushrooms, plants, etc., that help your body to better adapt to stress.
Why are Adaptogens important?
We all have stress in our lives from kids to work to school and everything in between. It’s also nothing new that stress can wreak havoc on your overall well being.
Stress can cause headaches, fatigue, sleeplessness and moodiness. Stress, also, has negative effects on skin including acne, dull complexion and dark under eye circles.
We are all for anything that will naturally help our body adapt to stress. Stress, left unchecked, can lead to very serious health issues, too, we’re talking high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity. In addition to eating clean and exercising, adaptogens can be another way to stay healthy, which results in looking healthy.
How do I implement adaptogens into my daily life?
There are a ton of products that are adaptogen based that you can add to smoothies, tea, coffee or any other liquid of your choosing. Here are a few common adaptogens, where they are found in nature, their benefits and where you can purchase them.

Not all Adatpogens are super exotic. Rosemary, Aloe Vera, Holy Basil and Licorice Root are all adaptogens, too.
